Celtics Trade Rumors

There are many Celtics trade rumors swirling around the league right now. The Dallas Mavericks, Derrick White, Justise Winslow, arcus Smart and others are all being linked to the team. Whether these moves are true or not remains to be seen. In the meantime, it is likely that the Celtics will have to make a big decision on who to trade for in the coming off-season.

Derrick White

There is a chance the Boston Celtics are planning to trade Derrick White, who has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. He is currently expendable with a fantasy-friendly stat line and an NBA experience. He is also a very talented passer and defender. In fact, the Boston Celtics could use some extra ball movement. White also has an excellent defensive profile, so he would fit in with the rest of the roster.

White’s acquisition improved the ball movement for the Celtics and gave them another weapon off the bench. Hardwood Houdini wrote about his addition a few months ago. Since his arrival, Boston has ripped through the NBA with a 20-6 record and grabbed the second seed in the Eastern Conference. In addition, the Celtics swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the playoffs.

Justise Winslow

The Boston Celtics are reportedly interested in acquiring Justise Winslow, a forward on the Portland Trail Blazers. The Celtics have six trade exceptions and can easily absorb Winslow’s $4 million salary with the exceptions that they received from the Dennis Schroder trade. However, it is unclear if the Blazers will be willing to trade Winslow.

The Boston Celtics were big on Winslow during the NBA draft when he was a high draft prospect. In fact, they were so interested in him that they offered six first-round picks to the Charlotte Hornets, who then went on to select Frank Kaminsky. Instead, the Miami Heat selected Winslow with the 10th pick. Since then, he has played for four different teams.

arcus Smart

There are a ton of rumors swirling around the NBA regarding arcus Smart, including reports of a possible trade for the Celtics’ All-Star guard. While the Boston Celtics could potentially offer Smart a contract extension this summer, a trade would also fit Brad Stevens’ quest for flexibility in the future. Additionally, Stevens has reportedly been frustrated with Smart’s inconsistent play in recent seasons.

The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets have been involved in trade rumors about Marcus Smart this offseason. The Celtics reportedly offered the Defensive Player of the Year in exchange for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. However, the Nets refused the trade offer and instead opted to keep Smart on the roster.

Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly interested in trading for Isaiah Thomas. But the decision may not be as easy as they might hope. In order to acquire the veteran, the Mavericks will have to consider the pros and cons of dealing for the guard. Dallas must account for the contracts of Davis Bertans and Tim Hardaway Jr.

The Mavericks have several options to improve their roster. They could sign free agents such as Kawhi Leonard, Chris Paul, or DeMar DeRozan. But a team could also trade for another star. It could be difficult to decide between the three players because they all have different strengths. In addition, the Mavericks have been pursuing young, athletic centers for quite some time, including Dwight Howard and Hassan Whiteside.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are in the midst of an eight-game skid and are reportedly mulling trades. They are searching for a strong shooter to bolster their defense. The team hasn’t been able to hold an opponent under 100 points since Dec. 7, and their opponents have averaged 119 points per game during this losing streak.

The Brooklyn Nets’ current roster is an improvement on last year’s team. If this roster is intact, it could provide instant Eastern Conference contender status. With Kyrie Irving back, the team will have a full season of star power. Irving missed a few games last season due to a New York City vaccination mandate, but he’ll be around for a longer period of time. If a trade does take place, the current roster would be difficult to top.
